Home on the Range

hero

I am a foodie. Always have been, always will be. My mom raised me on homemade pasta sauce that she made from her garden tomatoes, fresh honey from our bee houses, and maple syrup tapped from the Pennsylvania maple trees near our yard. I like to think that I have a seasoned palate.

So, for me, it doesn’t get much better than hanging out with some of San Francisco’s most famous chefs. In a city known for its food culture – and dishes that incorporate fresh produce from farmer’s markets, organic and grass fed meats, sustainable seafood, and the freshest ingredients California has to offer – these people are like gods.

I have wanted to photograph San Francisco’s chefs for a long time. However, instead of photographing the chefs in their industrial work kitchens, I decided it would be more personal and intimate if I photographed them at home. I got the extraordinary opportunity to meet the people behind the city’s finest eateries, and gather some home recipes as well. Enjoy!
