About Mara

Mara Scotia Sohn is not a writer. In her youth she lived on a houseboat, won in a poker bet, named Patches. Mara likes to believe that she really did partake in the "Family Under the Sea" (FUTS) program from the age of 6-11. Even in her tender years, Mara could throw a mean house "boat" party. She is conversationally fluent in bullhorn and walkie talkie. Most recently, she was the Program Manager for LUNAFEST, a festival of short films by, for and about women put on by LUNA bar. She has over nine years in "party monster" experience with long stints at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
