About Patrick
My story has a lot to do with pluck. Sorry, typo – my story has a lot to do with luck. I was lucky enough to be born in San Francisco, and into a family of literary types so hellbent on my succession they forced me to love to read and write at gunpoint. Despite their efforts, I failed to thrive as an adult, though unbeknownst to them I was suffering from a disorder called Failure to Thrive that had previously only affected infants; my struggles with the disease were well-documented, and I remain its patient zero, its Lou Gehrig, if you will. Fortuna, however, came to my rescue, leading me to TODO magazine, where I met my mentor, developed as a writer, and stole office supplies. From there lady luck whisked me off to be the editor of Thrillist, a what's-going-on-in-the-city email newsletter I was bitter I hadn't invented, and from there to my present position, SF editor for Citysearch. Thank you for your time.
